MiSeq

The illumina MiSeq is intended for medium-sized and flexible NGS experiments. One run yields up to 15 Gb of data. Currently offered run specifications:

1 x 50 bp single end

1 x 150 bp single end

2 x 75 bp paired-end

2 x 150 bp paired-end

2 x 300 bp paired-end

One run yields up to 25 million independent sequence tags. Typical experiments that can be done with 1 MiSeq run:

• De novo sequencing of 1-24 bacterial genomes
• 16S metagenomics studies
• Amplicon re-sequencing
